Funnier By The Lake Comedy returns to Madame Zuzu’s brand new, larger venue! The ONLY live stand up comedy in Highland Park. This month’s showcase includes:

HOST:
Katie Meiners

Katie Meiners is a stand-up comic who performs at The Improv, Zanies, The Comedy Shrine and beyond. She’s a graduate of The Second City Chicago’s Comedy Writing Program and of The University of Michigan and was named first runner-up in a wildly contentious Melon Queen Pageant in the mid-2000s. Katie produces Chicago’s Finest Stand-Up in Glenview, Illinois, and is the host of The Quatro Comedy Show, an improvised night of comedy in downtown Wheaton. She enjoys reading to kids, line-dancing and onions. In her free time, she commutes.

Conor Cawley
Hailing from Chicago, Conor Cawley is a comedian, writer, and world-renowned sweetheart. While he has spent most of his life in the Windy City, he has traveled the world from Brussels, Belgium to San Diego, California to cultivate a unique take on life and comedy. Conor is the Director of Live Events for Don’t Tell Comedy, helping to launch the secret comedy show in new cities. He’s also the founder of Rat Pack Comedy, a now-defunct dapper comedy show in which comedians dressed in their Sunday best to perform in Chicago’s Wrigleyville neighborhood. He’s featured at Zanies, the World Famous Laugh Factory, and the Comedy Palace. He has also had the pleasure of performing in the Hoboken Comedy Festival, the Whiskey Bear Festival in Columbus, Ohio, and Epic Fest in Edison Park, Chicago.

Kenyan Adamcik
After realizing that getting a decent SAT score wasn’t Kenyon’s true calling in life, he started stand up in high school and has gone on to open for Todd Glass, Tim Dillon, Ian Edwards, and Big Jay Oakerson. His comedy has also been featured on Sirius XM. Kenyon is a sought-out comedian in Chicago and is a regular at the Laugh Factory, Zanie’s and Comedy Bar, along with Good Nights and Helium. Growing up biracial with disabled parents, Kenyon brings a unique perspective to the stage that leaves audiences wanting more.

HEADLINER:
Jeanie Doogan
Jeanie started her career at the tender age of five when she quickly learned that as the youngest of eight children she needed a hook if she ever wanted to be fed, bathed, or have her existence acknowledged in any way. Failing miserably at tap dancing, Irish dancing, gymnastics, and academics, she carved out her comedy niche with kick-ass knock-knock jokes and soon rose to fame at the family dinner table with such classics as: “knock-knock.” “knock-knock.” “knock-knock! Open the door! You left me outside again!” Since her kitchen table debut, Jeanie has entertained audiences at colleges, casinos, and corporate events, and is a regular at venues such as  Zanies Comedy Clubs, The Laugh Factory, and The Comedy Bar. She was highlighted in Chicago Parents’ Magazine’s Four of Chicago’s Funniest: Stand Up Parents, and was featured on Nick Jr.’s Moms’ Night Out debut stand up special. Jeanie has set herself apart with her quick observations and no-apology take on teaching, parenthood, and American culture. Her sharp wit draws on her experiences growing up on the South side of Chicago and 20 years as a public school teacher to deliver comedy that reaches audiences of all walks of life.
